We at Evoke feel a responsibility to lead by example, and know from experience that quality does not have to be sacrificed to maintain a sustainable environment.
The role of the creative plays a crucial part in our consumer society. Everything from advertising through to art becomes the responsibility of our creative community. It is our duty to inform and lead our clients to the most ethical conclusions.
Evoke is committed to our goals in working towards a more sustainable future:
So how can we, as a product led business, justify our ethical standpoint without being hypocritical? The truth is that the consumer mentality is now so ingrained within society that we cannot live without products. Business will always be here to provide, creatives will always be needed to produce, and consumers will always require new products.
The best we can hope to achieve is to change popular opinion -and help create a sustainable consumerism. Through educating our designers, creatives and customers we can provide them with the tools and means to consider, debate and come to their own conclusions about the environment and sustainability.
The words 'Environment' and 'Eco-friendly' are bandied about all too often these days by businesses looking to capitalise on the growing trend for environmental awareness.
The term "greenwashing" is used for companies who present themselves as ethically and environmentally aware but whose image is not in keeping with their practice.
Evoke is committed to thoroughly researching our associates, suppliers and news before presenting it to the public as "green". This is to assure our customers that such practices will never be part of the Evoke ethos.
We applaud all the worthwhile, respectable businesses that continue to do great work and hope our own efforts inspire others to take action.
